$10k per month revenue is my ideal. But that’s just a money milestone. It’s what it enables that matters. And a lot of what it enables is not really about money, but lifestyle opportunities.
Opportunities like:
Sending my son to school then going for morning walk, while everyone else is dressed in office work wear on their way to work.
Or have a breakfast date with wife after we send son to school.
To provide for my wife fully, so that she can choose not to work if she wishes. Even when she choose to work, it’ll not be for the money.
Being able to be present at home with my family for most days.
Hang out more with my son who’s growing up too fast.
In future when he’s homeschooled, I can have the bandwidth to ferry him to classes, or facilitate remote learning at home.
Being able to take a weekend on a weekday - go to the beach, cycle, go swim in a pool, go to a playhouse, hang out at a mall.
Working on a weekend while everyone is out and everywhere is crowded.
Occasionally take my parents out for afternoon tea as a treat.
Being location independent, and that means being able to travel and work when we feel like it. Or even longer term stays with wife and son where he gets exposed to and learn new cultures.
Having the autonomy and freedom to work on projects for fun and/or without profit. No more need to consult, freelance or work for clients other than products’ customers. No need to find a job or worry about going back to a 9-5.
Have investments and plans for retirement, for till I’m 80-90.
$10,000 to buy all these priceless things in life.
Worth it right?
