I once wanted my products to earn $1,000,000/year.
Then I got a kid and all I wanted was playing with him in a ball pit.
Now I want my products to earn $1,000,000/year so that I can provide all the ball pits in the world, plus everything else he needs to thrive.
Reflecting on the past 4 years of dadhood, it kinda makes sense. When my son was born, it was the pandemic, and the world went sideways. He was still a fragile newborn. My instincts as a protector went through the roof.
Now that the crisis is over, and he’s older, stronger and more independent, the protector instincts have now evolved into that of a provider. Those provider instincts that definitely firing on all cylinders now.
Is this how it works?
As a young man, I wanted to conquer the world.
After having a baby, I no longer cared about the world.
Now, with kid growing up, I want to conquer the world for him.
Being an indie dad does funny things to you.
