8 products.
12 plugins.
20 new things in total.
Other than my Carrd plugins which were for profit, almost everything else I built were for personal use or productivity. I think with vibecoding and AI, this year had really been the year of experimenting and building my own tools instead of using what’s made by others.
The 3D printer of software is a good analogy here.
I love that I can just build a simple tool I need in a day, instead of using someone else’s and having to do work-arounds for features they don’t have. Key word is “simple”. I doubt it’s worth the hassle for complex tools.
Of course, no new SaaS this year, some productivity tools, a video game. That’s about it. Nothing that’s profit-generating. Not even a social impact project. And no new revenue and revenue sources.
All the product goals I set at the beginning of the year had a deep structural problem – I wasn’t in the right season or life stage to pursue them. Launch a new SaaS. Hit $10k per month product revenue. Hard enough with burnout and midlife fatigue, improbable with a thousand other things going on—alarms ringing, horns blaring—in young family, career and life.
No point forcing shipping.
I had decided I won’t be setting goals for 2026. I’ll take the L and will move on and try something else that works with my constraints.
2026 will be the year I get real about the realities of my life season.
